On 24 June 2009, the Trade Practices Amendment (Australian Consumer Law) Bill 2009 was introduced into Parliament. The Bill is specifically aimed at unfair terms in standard form contracts, including real estate contracts. It is likely to become law in January 2010 and will apply Australia-wide.
